On Saturday, May 16th, Raegan Samuels and Sarah Harhigh presented a $1,000 check to Ken Miller for the Grabill Food Bank.  What started out as a National challenge, turned into a larger donation for their local food bank.

After starting to do various chores and jobs for others, on May 2nd the girls donated $500 to the National All In Challenge (benefiting Feed America, Meals on Wheels, No Kid Hungry and World Central Kitchen charities).  As the news spread about their efforts, the work and donations kept coming in.   So, the 2 Leo eighth graders shifted the focus to help the local community by donating the additional money to the Grabill Food Bank. The jobs varied from cleaning up yards, weeding flower beds, painting, to washing windows.

Fox 55 News carried the story when they started the challenge in April, and then again with a follow-up story on May 10th,  showcasing the girls’ efforts to help those in need locally. You can see those stories here:
